Stipend for persons with disabilities

Any JU student holding a disability certificate or equivalent document is entitled to a stipend - additional material aid designed to ensure equal opportunities.

In order to activate a disability stipend application in an individual account in the USOSweb system, it is enough to send a scan or a copy of a current disability certificate or equivalent document to the JU Accessibility Centre from an email in the domain student.uj.edu.pl. You can also provide the original document during a consultative session at the AC, but this is not required. The education accessibility specialist will enter the data from the attestation into the system after the student has completed the GDPR clause, to which the student receives a link sent to their email address in the domain student.uj.edu.pl. The following day, after the data have been entered into the system (disability code, degree, date of certificate award and its validity), the electronic application is activated on the individual USOSweb account. It must be completed online. The completed application should be printed out and delivered to the financial aid coordinator of your Faculty.

The stipend for persons with disabilities is awarded from the month in which the application is submitted, normally for a period of nine months (October to June) or until the end of the certificate’s validity.

For the academic year 2022/2023, the monthly stipend amounts are as follows:

For JU under/graduate and doctoral students (old system):

Stipend for persons with disabilities:

  • mild degree - PLN 450 per month
  • moderate degree - PLN 850 per month
  • considerable degree - PLN 1,150 per month

The disability stipend may be collected in one University programme only. Students who, having completed one field of study, continue their education in another are not entitled to the disability stipend, unless they continue their education after completing first-degree studies in order to obtain a master’s degree, but no longer than for a period of three years.

Financial support is not available to persons on student and Dean’s leaves.

In the event of expiry of the validity of a disability certificate or disability degree attestation and its/their re-determination as a continuation of the previous certificate, the right to the stipend is established from the first day of the month following the month in which the previous certificate expired, if the student meets the conditions entitling him/her to this benefit and has applied for the disability stipend within three months following the expiry of the validity of the previous certificate.
