Induction loops

Induction loops

An induction loop is a device that facilitates hearing for persons using cochlear implants and hearing aids with a built-in induction coil.

This solution is most commonly used in public buildings such as lecture theatres, conference rooms, auditoriums and museums. The use of an induction loop makes it possible to eliminate noise, reverberation and other unwanted sounds while improving speech understanding.

The presence of an induction loop should be appropriately marked with an international sign. This is the symbol of the left ear against a white diagonal line with the letter T in the lower right on a blue background.

Induction loops at the Jagiellonian University

At the Jagiellonian University, stationary induction loops are installed in room 1.10 of the Centre for Educational Support and the auditorium of the Institute of Law and Administration. There is a stationary loop in the Secretariat of the Accessibility Centre. In addition, the Centre has three portable loops and one stationary one available for hire.
