We are presenting a guide on organising accessible events at the Jagiellonian University. In it, you will find practical tips on how to ensure that various events are accessible to persons with specific needs in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The DSS team developed the guide on the basis of its own long experience in organising various workshops, conferences and concerts. We would like its content to be an inspiration for other units of the Jagiellonian University in the implementation of individual events at the University.

‘Access Ticket: Practical Advice on Organising Accessible Events at the Jagiellonian University’ (orig. "Bilet dostępu. Praktyczne porady o organizacji dostępnych wydarzeń na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim") is a collection of hints, a discussion of statutory requirements and good practices, and a presentation of a resource of accessibility solutions whose application opens up events to the diverse needs of their participants.

Referring to many years of activity in the organisation of conferences, workshops and concerts, we comprehensively discuss the process of creating an event: from planning, promotion and information, through detailed organisation, including budgeting, to evaluation, conclusions and a structured summary. Complete with a glossary of terms, useful appendices and a collection of links, it provides a knowledge base and a starting point for taking steps to ensure the full participation of persons with disabilities and/or specific needs in the event.

We hope that the guide set in a University context (because this is where we operate) will be a universal inspiration for a wide audience. We encourage you to read it and implement the proposed solutions.
